Very excited to grateful to be a recipient of the 2020 BEMAC (Brisbane Multicultural Arts Centre) grant for boosting new creative endeavours in the Ipswich area during COVID-19. I have chosen to create a 2.7m X 0.9m outdoor mural titled The Not So Social Gathering. The The message of the project is to portray the stillness and quiet that descended globally on our lives since March 2020. In this mosaic I will be using animals within a desert setting portraying the physical isolation, the often times suspicious guardedness amongst us, and at the same time embracing whatever connection we could maintain despite these restrictions.
